Hi guys,

As soon as i discovered that TOO FACED MELTED LIPSTICK’s have a dupe …..i knew that i had to get my hands on these- MAKEUP REVOLUTION LIP LAVA.

PRICE-RS 700( 4.59usd /2.99GBP) for 12ml

  • Unleash(peachy shade)
  • Shockwave(neon purple)
  • Forgiven(Nude)
  • Firestorm( True red)

AVAILABLE (mostly online)-

It comes in pretty chic cardboard box which shows quite a close resemblance to the “too faced melted lipsticks” quite sturdy enough to store in the squeezin tube containing the lipstick.

This is how the red plastic squeeze-in tube with a black cap looks like this. The tube represents the colour of the lipstick, which is quite helpful in selecting the shade ……thought the name of the lipstick “FIRESTORM” is not mentioned anywhere. It has a soft sponge applicator tip which i feel might be unhygienic so it cannot be shared ,if used directly on lips by one person.

The Lip Lavas are described as an Intense lipstick formula, melted to create our most impactful gloss. Smooth and comfortable wear, with long lasting formula with Vitamin E

DUPE of too faced melted –

Too Faced MELTED LIPSTICK came out with a lot more shades, but, the Lip Lava’s have pretty much exact color dupes for

Melted Nude = Forgiven,

Melted Ruby = Firestorm,

Melted Coral = Unleash,

Melted Violet = Shockwave and

Melted Peony = Tremor.

The collection contains five shades in gorgeous bright and vibrant colours.

When the Lip Lavas are first applied to the lips, the finish is very glossy although over time the glossiness does reduce slightly but it stays relatively glossy whereas the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks dry down to a matte finish which is probably the only difference between the two products.

I am quite happy to see the pigmentation, these Lip Lava’s are very pigmented, just like as i had expected and heard about it.

FIRESTORM being a “BLUE-TONED RED” looks gorgeous on my skin colour(wheatish skin).i love wearing it all the time …even a small amount of the lipstick looks like a stain which a prefer. 🙂
Smell– The Lip Lava lipsticks don’t have a scent which is a plus point 🙂
Texture– it’s smooth and creamy but feels stick at first on application.
STAYING POWER-It stays all day long unless you remove it.i have noticed that even after removing it off with a baby wipe it tends to remain as stain on lips which looks lovely on its own.
TRANFER-The only downside of this product is that it tranfers a lot….like hell. But even after transferring, it remains on your lips forever.:)

FIRESTORM (in natural light)

Thumbs up 👍 –

  • Superb formulation
  • stays all day
  • Great pigmentation
  • Blue-toned red(Shade “FIRESTORM”) looks best on women of colour.
  • Stains lips even after removing
  • doesn’t have any smell

Thumbs Down 👎 –

  • Transfers a lot
  • Mostly available online in india .
  • Drugstore price.
  • Great dupe of “Too faced melted “
  • Shade name is not mentioned on the tube

Rating– 4/5

Overall, i love it because it is quite affordable dupe when compared to TOO FACED MELTED (which is $19 each). i love its formulation and the fact that it stays on forever . 🙂 i would love to see more shades in this lip lava range of makeup revolution.

Maybelline baby lips spiced up

Hi beauties,

IT’s winter time…So i thought it would be an awesome thing to review some lip balms i have always been using on the go…!! whenever i travel or even at home to keep by lips hydrated 🙂

Maybelline New York launches the all new Baby Lips Spiced Up, made for the Indi pop generation specially and developed to perfectly suit the range of Indian skin tones.

Spiced Up comes in delicious flavors –

  • Spicy Cinnamon,
  • Berry Sherbet,
  • Tropical Punch

Product reviewed– MAYBELLINE SPICED UP

Shade reviewed– Tropical punch

PRICE -Rs175 ~ 2.6 USD ( i bought it from fir Rs. 131)

PACKAGING-The Maybelline Spiced Up Lip Balmcomes in an oval shaped cardboard box with cute graphic designs and other details about the product. The packaging of the balm is like the regular baby lips available in India. The lip balm tube is color-coded which makes it easy to locate in your makeup stash. It is also travel friendly and the cap shuts well with a click sound

What the product claims:

– Deeper shades to suit sun-kissed skin tones
– Stronger, lip-smacking flavours
– Intense 12hr care
– Enriched with SPF 20 for sun protection

Colour: The colour of the lip balm tube of shade Tropical Punch is a pink with reddish undertones. When swatched or applied on the lips, it shows up like a light pink, still leaning more towards red.

Texture-the balm definitely feels heavy on lips(feels like you have applied boreline on)….but at the same time its moisturizing…It’s definitely long lasting than “MAYBELLINE ELECTRO POP”. (I have reviewed “MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS ELECTRO POP ” HERE )

Smell: The fragrance of this lip balm is very fruity with a hint of spice..(just like the name of the product states 😉 )

My experience-Tropical Punch has a deep pinkish tint, Berry Sherbet is more on the reddish side while Spicy Cinnamon has a brownish tint. These add a hint of color to the lips which is perfect for natural looks.Colorwise, I quite like what Maybelline has done here. The tints are deep enough to show up on the lips but not so pigmented that they cross over to the lipstick territory! For some people the texture of the balm might seem heavy after application..even on one swipe…..but its ok for me. 🙂

Its definitely hydrates your lips and gives a nice healthy sheen….for everyday use. The only downside for me was the packaging…i really liked the packaging of the “electro pop ” range of maybelline baby lips!!

Thumbs up 👍 –

  • Nice travel friendly packaging
  • Beautiful natural pinky shade
  • stays for long
  • very creamy and buttery
  • SPF 20
  • fades leaving a tint behind after 3 – 4 hrs
  • Easily available online and in stores
  • Contains the goodness of Coconut oil and Vitamin E (as per the ingredients list)
  • custom made for indian skin
  • hydrates and moistures lips
  • affordable

Thumbs down 👎 –

  • Doesn’t cover/hide pigmented lips
  • people who don’t like too heavy lip balm

Rating- 4/5.i’m quite a fan of “maybelline baby lips range”.i would definitely recommend this one !

Lakme lip gloss- lotus mosaic

hi everyone, 😀

shade reviewed- Lotus mosaic

Product Description

This lip gloss provides a fresh kiss of colour to your lips and beautifies them. It provides you with a sheer coverage and comes in a yummy bubble gum flavor.  This gloss has incredibly high-shine. It gives you, glamorous and juicy lips.

Direction for Use

Just open the cap and press the tube gently, apply the gloss to your lips starting from the middle of your lips and moving it towards the corners of your lips. It has Slant applicator which helps you to have a better control over application and gives you a better finish as compared to a round or flat surface applicator.

200 rupees. for 15 ml ( 3.06 us dollar)

Comes sealed in a tube that can be squeezed to dispense the product. The cap closes tightly. But sometimes the product might leak in hot weather…i have experienced this incident. 😦

Shelf Life

6 months approx

my experience

When it comes to the texture of the gloss, it is thick, smooth and sweet has a very sheer finish to it…..more than pigmentation it has shimmer to it .It is kind of sheer ….light application is good for everyday and those who prefer shiny lipglosses! it has a glossy base with pink sparkles added to can quite notice that in the swatch below.i would have preferred more pigmentation to it…

thumbs up 👍  –

  • Lakme Lip Gloss is very moisturising
  • It has a sweet smell like strawberries.
  •  Packaging is a tube with slant applicator secured with a screw cap. Travel-friendly.
  • Has a slant applicator helps to control amount of gloss, but I think slant tip tubes don’t work very well on thin lips.
  •  Reasonably priced.
  • good for those who like shimmer

Thumbs down 👎  –

  • It is sticky.
  • It is heavy on lips!
  • It not for hot weather!
  • Its colour is not suitable for every skin tone.
